Actor-politician Edu Manzano formally opened the Adrian Manzano Cancer Wing (AMCW) at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center in Quezon City. The facility was donated by the actor and named after his late father.
The AMCW will serve as an isolation treatment ward for patients in need of chemotherapy and blood transfusions. It is the only chemotherapy and blood transfusion ward that specializes in treating children. The ward with recliner beds and equipped with a TV set and DVD player. The chemo cubicles have a playful look composed of basic shapes painted in 26-color palette representing the 26 letters in the alphabet.
The proceed from the facility will be used for the hospital’s less fortunate patients who are also seeking treatment from the charity ward. Edu was assisted by son Luis Manzano. Other stars present were Cherie Gil, Mark Gil and Ricky Davao.
