DSWD - JSDF Project in Burdeos

A DSWD Region IV - A report on the JSDF Project. Highlighted here was the emerging of indigenous people in Burdeos, the Dumagats, in people empowerment by teaching them how to read, write and calculate, at the same time giving them livelihood opportunities.

Burdeos is an island municipaliry located in the Polilo group of islands in Quezon Province.

Behind-the-scenes:

Day 1. Vlogging while at the motorboat going to Pollilio Island on the way to Burdeos, Quezon. There I interacted with the locals also going Burdeos. It was a free flowing on-cam conversation discussing life, showbiz, bb gandang hari, the DSWD - JSDF project documentation and anything under the sun.

Day 3. After 3 hours of hiking going to a community of Dumagats, we were expecting not to walk that far again going back to the barrio since it was already high-tide and small bankas could pitch us somewhere in the middle of the forest. It was almost 6pm and we found out that the banka that was supposed to pitch us left already…what happened next…watch the video…

Day 4. After visiting 4 Barangay islands in Burdeos, we are finally going back to the town proper. But before that we went to an island they called Pulong Buhangin. It’s an island that disappears during high-tides. This is one of a kind experience…

Playboy Philippines Bloggers’ Night Out

March 20, 2009. Bloggers’ Party by Playboy Philippines at Source Bar and Lounge. Playboy hosted an exclusive night of mingling, dining, and partying - bloggers’ style.

Glad to be one of the first to feel the difference and taste the new flavour of Playboy magazine as it moves away from the stereotype of the usual men’s magazine into a sophisticated, classier men’s lifestyle magazine.

Watch the video.

2nd Sony Wedding Video Competition

Compared to our winning entry during the 1st Sony Wedding Video Competition, our objective was to show a new element for this year’s entry. So, we decided to use chroma, visual effects and graphics. First, we used visual effects using chroma showing a skyline to reaveal the couple having coffee in the dining area. Second, we used chroma and graphics to enhance the personality of the couple for the prenup scenes. And finally, we used chroma for the first dance during the reception. We took effort creating the lighting effect for the interviews. We also used camera stabilizers in shooting the make-up scene of the couple, from the face of the bride gliding down to the hand of the make-up artist following the hand of another make-up artist then gliding up the face of the groom and repeating the process. We also used crane for the opening and ending scenes. We had trial edits during the shooting to make sure we could achieve the visual effects we wanted.

Buying an engagement ring

When lovers decide to become an engaged couple, it is a custom to buy a ring for the girl or both to wear on their ring finger. Others wear it on their third finger. Ideally, an engagement ring is something that you should be happy to wear for a long time and may even be passed on to future generations.

Buying an engagement ring requires you to consider the following:

1.    Stones
There are many engagement ring choices today. Some of them are:

Diamonds
The durability of this stone makes them last almost forever. This is especially true for the high-quality ones. If budget is a concern, there are other variants of diamonds to   choose from, such as the cubic zirconium, that can also take its place.

Precious or semi-precious stones
With the popularity of gem stones and their meanings, they have become popular choices as well for engaged couples. Precious stones alternative to diamonds are rubies, emeralds, and sapphires. All others are considered as semi-precious or ornamental stones.

2.    Style
Choose whether you’ll go for solitaire, cluster of stones, or band. This includes any special setting or arrangement you may have in mind.

3.    Budget
Set an amount that both of you can afford to spend.

The ideal engagement ring should be easy to keep clean and sparkling. Make sure to get advice on how to do that. You may also want to get a valuation certificate for insurance purposes.
