Apr 03 Wedding Vows for Philippine Wedding

In my experience as a wedding videographer in the Philippines, wedding vows are always the highlights in every wedding rite. Though very strict, Catholic weddings sometimes still allow the couple to have personal wedding vows. But for Christian weddings, the wedding vows are always anticipated to be a very romantic moment and often the perfect place for the couple to express their feelings towards each other.  Christian couples are free to add their own embellishments, loving words, funny promises and inside jokes. Their wedding vows are original, unique, funny, poetic and romantic because it flows from the heart.

Ryan and Jihan’s wedding last January 23, 2010 at the Lakeshore in Pampanga, to me is one of the best wedding vows we captured on video.  You will be carried away along with the groom and the bride and the rest of the people present in the wedding ceremony.

As a wedding videographer, I strongly suggest that writing your own personal vows is always a plus factor in creating a good wedding video.

I would like to share an example of traditional wedding vows and from here you can edit and include your own words to make it personal and unique.

I, (name), take you, (name), to be my [opt: lawfully wedded] (husband/wife), my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward. In the presence of God, our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.

I (name), take you (name) to be my (husband/wife), my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live.
