The Hong Kong and China Tour

One best benefit of personal events coverage is becoming friends with clients. This is true to Ma’am Elena Kiyozuka – we used to call her that – until after the Hong Kong and China tour. Now we call her Mommy Elena, too, as every relative of hers does.

She always invites us for dinner every time she’s in the Philippines. She always invites us in every family occasion, not to mention the Hong Kong and China tour. Yup, this is more of a tour rather than a work to me – tell me, who can shoot while riding Space Mountain at Disneyland?

Another project I’m doing right now is the documentary on the life of Yo, the only son of Mommy Elena. This includes his childhood in Japan till he graduated in college in Manila.

Now let’s discuss the Hong Kong and China tour. Hong Kong is an amazing place not just because of the tunnels, bridges and railway system. The Hong Kong skyline is often considered one of the best in the world. Many of the people’s homes became part of Hong Kong’s skyline and scenery. The streets of Hong Kong is pretty safe. I noticed some locals drinking – very drunk so to speak – at the street walkways but amazingly, there is no danger to worry about as you pass by. It’s pretty normal and no police officers were needed in the scene. 7 Eleven is all over the city – it is the sari-sari store like in Manila.

Chenzhen experience in China is also wonderful. Mall sales staff greets you “kumusta ka kaibigan” to attract you to enter the boutique. Whew…despite no English, it is easy to negotiate using the calculator. The city skyline is very new, in fact the city was founded only 30 years ago. All the good things, don’t you think? It’s just too bad there’s no Facebook in China.

DSWD – JSDF Project in Burdeos

A DSWD Region IV – A report on the JSDF Project. Highlighted here was the emerging of indigenous people in Burdeos, the Dumagats, in people empowerment by teaching them how to read, write and calculate, at the same time giving them livelihood opportunities.

Burdeos is an island municipality located in the Polilo group of islands in Quezon Province.

Behind-the-scenes:

Day 1. Vlogging while at the motorboat going to Pollilio Island on the way to Burdeos, Quezon. There I interacted with the locals also going Burdeos. It was a free flowing on-cam conversation discussing life, showbiz, bb gandang hari, the DSWD – JSDF project documentation and anything under the sun.

Day 3. After 3 hours of hiking going to a community of Dumagats, we were expecting not to walk that far again going back to the barrio since it was already high-tide and small bankas could pitch us somewhere in the middle of the forest. It was almost 6pm and we found out that the banka that was supposed to pitch us left already…what happened next…watch the video…

Day 4. After visiting 4 Barangay islands in Burdeos, we are finally going back to the town proper. But before that we went to an island they called Pulong Buhangin. It’s an island that disappears during high-tides. This is one of a kind experience…

THE MAKING VIDEO Launched

Written by buddy. Posted in Video Blogging

When I started producing wedding videos, it was clear to me that I needed to be different from other videographers in town. You can see that even for the terms I use for the kind of videos I produce, I make it a point to be different.

For example, we use Reality Segments instead of MTV. We use Prenup Video instead of Full AVP. We also introduced new terms like Online Video Invite, Video Testimonials and Video Wedding Tips. Today, we are launching our own versions of VLOG videos featuring “The making of PROJECT RUNAWAY “, the Paul and Jang Prenup Video”
