We all know that Philippine wedding today is entirely different 10-15 years ago. Not just with the wedding gown, photo, video, the decors, the reception venue and even the reception program and the after dinner party.

This is also true for the wedding songs. As we all know, wedding songs set the general mood and tone of the wedding ceremony or reception, while allowing the couple to express their feelings through music.

Wedding songs are now grouped into so many categories from the wedding rites up to the wedding reception. We have the processional wedding songs, recessional wedding songs, wedding vows and unity candle songs for the wedding ceremony. And for the reception, we also have the father-daughter wedding songs, mother-son wedding songs, the first dance wedding songs, the bouquet toss wedding songs, cake cutting wedding songs, wedding dinner songs, the garter toss wedding songs and of course the wedding party songs.

We have compiled a list of 100 most popular wedding songs in various categories from the song lists submitted to us by our clients that will undoubtedly make your wedding a day to remember!

Kota Kinabalu City is located at Sabah Malaysian Borneo. Kota Kinabalu is just like the Philippine’s Davao or Cebu City. Nothing high rise like the tourist belt of Manila, Makati and Ortigas yet it looks like a city built and established only in the past 20 years. No historical structures like Intramuros. But on our way to our hotel from the airport, I fell in love with the city hitherto.

I found the city very clean, peaceful, safe, no street children and “taong grasa” (vagrant). No trafic jam even during rush hours. People are disciplined too, and you don’t need to go to country sides to find forests – yes, rain forests are present even beside the downtown proper. Amazing.

And here is the best part. As every city has its own squatters, Kota Kinabalu has its own, too. Only that their squatters are more decent and more fortunate than the urban poor in the Philippines. But I also noticed that they don’t have Forbes Park. This means Malaysia’s gap between the rich and poor is not that extreme compared in the Philippines .

Thanks to Beatrice Peter and Alex Chan for the city tour the day after the wedding. And also to Azmie, who brought us to a local resto that offers Malaysian food at its best. We’ll not forget the special dinner too hosted by Evelyn Charlie and husband. Nightlife at CEO bar was an unforgetable experience too. When you go to KK, it’s a must to visit CEO Bar.

Last Friday, January 15, 2010, winners of the I Love Makati Video Contest Winners were already posted at I Love Makati.ph. I realized heading the panel of judges is not that an easy task. It was hard disqualifying several entries because of non compliance with the video contest rules especially that several of them were ranking among the judges.

During the conversation with Doods Eduarte, Programs Services Specialist and I would say that she is one of the best Associate Producers of News and Current Affairs of ABS-CBN I have worked with. She was surprised that the entries were actually very good considering that these are produced by neither non-broadcast nor professional video producers. I agree with her.

Last December 8-10, I was in Cebu City not to cover an event but as a speaker in a workshop attended by 30 students from various colleges and universities in Cebu. The seminar and workshop entitled Online Campus Journalism was organized by Smart Communications Inc. (SMART) as part of its efforts in promoting campus journalism and online content generation. The event aimed to educate student journalists of the potentials of the Internet and new media as effective channels of campus journalism.

My talk was on Video production and video blogging. I shared with the student journalists and professors my expert opinion and practical advice on pre-production, shooting and video editing techniques. Since they are campus journalists, considering that they may have or not have professional equipment, I also included talk on vlogging using camera phone, uploading to the web and optimizing the post with simple story and title.

Thanks to Ms. Nick Wilwayco, Manager of Online Services/e-Publishing of the Public Affairs Group of Smart Communications Inc. for believing that working with me was an invaluable learning experience for the participating young writers.

Here is my presentation.

Finally I’m done with the Fiber Cement Technical Training Video for Mariwasa Siam Ceramics Inc.

The instructional video was shoot with the technical experts from Thailand. The DVD is composed of 4 instructional videos featuring Elephant SmartBoard, Elephant SmartWood, Roman Tile and Shingle Roof Ayara. The video is intended for marketing and trainers’ training material.

Today, as videos are getting easier and easier to share on line, producing instructional/technical training videos is beneficial to your company, in my opinion; this is even more relevant rather than producing a company profile AVP and/or accomplishment report AVPs.

A clip of the video will be posted soon at pinoyhowto.com website.
